5 Things I Discovered About Vaping

A couple of weeks ago, I started vaping. Not to quit smoking (I don’t smoke), but for the benefits of vaping CBD oil.

The good news is that the CBD oil has decreased my arthritis pain and helped with some anxiety issues.

The bad news is that I don’t look as sexy vaping as this guy.

So, here’s what I’ve learned:

The Throat Hit

I had never heard this phrase before I started vaping, and as a non-smoker, I had no idea what it was.

CBD oil isn’t supposed to be inhaled.

Great! I don’t inhale.

Then, I accidentally inhaled and found out exactly what the throat hit is.

When I finished coughing. I still had the burning sensation at the back of my throat.

This, apparently, is what smokers are looking for when they vape.

I started out with a fruit/mint flavor combination.

Then, I ventured out and found a reputable online store where I could purchase inexpensive sample oils.

I purchased about 12 samples. In some samples, the flavor profile described was non-existent.

Others were okay, subtle, but identifiable. They would probably be better if I’d allowed them to steep, but I’m not a patient sort of person. Ultimately, not anything I’d enjoy.

Then, I opened an oil called Milk & Berries, which tastes exactly like Cap’n Crunch right out of the bottle.

As an aside, I also discovered that if you vape right after a drink of water, the flavor “boosts.” Which leads me to….

Water, Water Everywhere

You’d think a mouthful of steam wouldn’t make you thirsty.

Yet, I vape, then I drink, because my mouth dries out.

Like there’s a cotton ball in my mouth dry.

I really wish the increased water intake would make my skin look all fresh & dewy, but so far, my skin is still the same ol’ skin.

But, my lips?

Lips Like Sugar

It’s all oil.

And all that vaping has made my lips really soft – and sweet because of the sweet Milk & Berries. But sadly, not as sexy has her blue lips.

But Not Much Passes My Lips

There are rumors that the CBD oil is some sort of appetite regulator. And it’s been proven that nicotine is an appetite suppressant.  I live with a smoker, and believe me when I tell you I’ve been getting more nicotine in second-hand smoke than I am from vaping.

So, I don’t consider the nicotine in the vape juice as the reason for my lack of appetite. Portions have gotten smaller, and there are times when I’m not hungry at all when I should be. Have I lost any weight? I don’t know, because I haven’t been near a scale. But if the water intake stays the same, and the decreased appetite sticks around, I just might brave it.
